Written entrance
UCEED written exam - Part A (computer based: NAT, MSQ, MCQ on visualisation, observation, logic, design awareness) + Part B (drawing and design question, answered on paper)

Specialisations
• Admission/Counselling: During UCEED counselling, you choose the institute, not a specialization or stream. • No Branch Change: Once admitted to IIT Bombay B.Des, you cannot switch to another UG program. • No Fixed Specialization: IIT Bombay’s B.Des is largely generalist. There is no separate specialization/stream that you select at admission. Build Your Area of Depth: Students develop deeper expertise through projects, electives, and their choice of work, rather than being locked into a named specialization. The commonly mentioned areas include Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Design, Interaction Design & Mobility, and Vehicle Design. • Dual-Degree Decision: At the end of 3rd year (after Semester 6), you choose whether to complete the 4-year B.Des or continue into the 5-year B.Des + M.Des dual degree.
